What data SmoothRide processes, why and for how long, and what rights you have. We use no tracking or advertising cookies. The German version is legally binding.
When you open the site, our server processes technically necessary data (IP address, time, requested address, browser identifier) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
When you submit a report we store the photo, location, your assessment, labels and your comment. Faces and number plates are blurred automatically before storage; this does not always work completely, so please do not photograph people. Reports are public and can be viewed and handled by cities. The legal basis is your consent when submitting (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); you can withdraw it at any time and have the report deleted.
To describe the photo and suggest ideas we send a reduced, blurred copy of the photo plus comment, place and labels to Google (Gemini API). Google may process data in the USA; the transfer relies on the Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. The answers are AI-generated and labelled as such.
For maps we load map tiles, and for address search we use a geocoding service based on OpenStreetMap. Your IP address is sent to the respective provider.
For an account we store your email address, user name and your reports. The legal basis is the use of the service (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). You can have your account deleted at any time.
The site and the database run at IONOS SE, Montabaur (Rechenzentrum in Deutschland). A data processing agreement is in place with the provider.
We delete server logs after 14 days at the latest. Reports and accounts are kept until you have them deleted or the service ends.
We only store what the site needs in your browser: language, appearance (light or dark) and your sign-in. This data does not leave your device.
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR) and the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority (Art. 77 GDPR). Write to us at the address above.
